As of now, the issue hasn’t been acknowledged by the developers, which is why waiting for an official fix is not really recommended. Well, what you can do is try a bunch of workarounds shared below:
Use the Pick Up Multiple Items feature
If you have played Disney Dreamlight Valley for a while, you will know that the in-game character gets multiple prompts related to picking up items in the game. If there is only one item near their vicinity, the Pick Up option will appear. But if there are multiple items, you don’t need to press the Pick Up prompt manually. You can just hold the E button to pick up all items in one single go. That’s the feature you will be using to bypass this bug. How? First, drop a bunch of items near the furniture you want to pick. After this, go near the furniture and then the option to Pick Up Multiple should appear. Select it and then all items will be picked up along with the furniture needed for the quest.
Reload Save
Another workaround worth trying is to just reload a save before you started the Furniture Fluster quest. It is possible that the bug exists in the current save only and reloading a different save file might actually do the trick. So, give it a try.
Restart game
