Digimon Survive is an upcoming strategy based action role-playing game set to release sometime in 2021. As of now, the confirmed release platforms for the game are the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows. The game was first announced in July 2018 via an issue of the Japanese magazine V Jump, so there is every possibility that since the unveil was three years ago now, the game has since started work for its PlayStation 5 adaptation. In this article, we will be taking a look at everything we know about the game so far and whether it will be coming out for the PlayStation 5. Right, let’s get straight into it then.

The game’s storyline as well as the evolution of the Digimon, called digivolutions, are influenced by the player’s decisions. There can be several different endings to the game, thus maximizing its replayability. This particular feature of the game is also reminiscent of western titles such as Mass Effect and Detroit: Become Human.

Aside from the fact that the entire story of the game is shaped by the player, there are also several different game modes in Digimon Survive. These are: Search Action, Free Action, Drama Parts, and Free Battle. The simplest gameplay mode is Drame Parts, which are essentially cutscenes, where the story and plot progress through text. While Search Action is a frantic mode where the player needs to find a means to survive an encounter, Free Action allows a set amount of time for the player to explore and chat with whoever they want to. Finally, Free Battle allows the player to explore regions of the map to train their Digimon, level them up, and gather resources for later use.

There is almost no doubt about the fact that Digimon Survive will be coming to the PlayStation 5, as it would be too big of a title for Sony to overlook for the next-gen hardware. It might just be a matter of time before we get an official announcement regarding this, and it may even be after the launch of the game.

We hope you enjoyed this article on the two upcoming Digimon Survive. Make sure to check out our other articles on Dead or Alive 7, Control 2, and the various Fortnite crossovers.
