June 6th marks the release of Blizzard’s latest entry into the Diablo series, Diablo 4. Launching for the PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Windows platforms, the game can already be played if you have pre-ordered either the Digital Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition. Reviews of the game have been quite positive, so you can at least rest knowing that the game isn’t a total disaster. Now that the game is already playable as “early access”, some players have been having a hard time completing some quests. The “Secret of the Spring” quest is one of them.
Quests are generally how the game makes the player progress through the story. Usually, there are two types of quests: – Main Quests and Side Quests. The Main quests, as the name itself suggests, are important for the story as players advance through the game by completing them. On the other hand, side quests are optional quests that the players can either decide to do or not. However, they are quite helpful to the players since they reward them with rewards and such. So, how do you complete the “Secret of the Spring” quest in Diablo 4? Let’s find out!
Diablo 4 Secret of the Spring Quest: How to Complete it
First of all, to start the “Secret of the Spring Quest” in Diablo 4, you need to go to the Forsaken Quarry, located northeast of the Cathedral of Light at Kyovashad. Once you are there, head straight for the south side of the dungeon entrance and climb the ladder there. Interact with the Discarded Note on the platform, which, when opened, will present the player with the following riddle – “Beacon of warmth in winter’s embrace, patience rewarded by nature’s own grace.”
The quest will start with the examination of the cryptic note. And in order to complete the quest, you will first need to solve the riddle. To solve it, head northeast from your location. Your map will also have a small circular area marked. Eventually, you will come across a spring called the Trough of Orobas. This is where the riddle comes into play. That “patience rewarded” line in the riddle is hinting towards the “Wait” emote. All you need to do is pop out the emote wheel and use the “Wait” emote near the spring to complete the quest.
Do note that the “Wait” emote isn’t equipped in the Emote wheel by default, so you would need to assign it. To do so, simply open the Emote wheel and select the “Customize” button below the Emote wheel. Next, select the empty emote space, and from the emote selection drop the “Wait” emote on the wheel. Click on the “Save Changes” button and exit the menu. Upon the completion of the “Secret of the Spring” quest, a Buried Chest will emerge from the ground. Open it/Interact with it to receive Renown, XP, and Gold along with some Magic and Rare crafting materials.
