Destiny 2 pony error troubling players: Is there any fix yet

The highly anticipated next expansion of Destiny 2 is just around the corner and players are very excited. Called The Final Shape, this upcoming expansion is all set to release on June 4, 2024. New players are also joining in on the fun, all geared up to enjoy this upcoming expansion. However, recently, many players have reported a Pony error code issue that’s become quite a major source of both frustration and annoyance for them. Don’t worry, though! This guide has some important information on this issue, which is going to help you a ton in dealing with this problem.

So, what’s the exact issue here? Well, there’s currently an exploit that is related to this Pony error code. And many are using this exploit to kick out other players to orbit, disrupting their games. This is done by sending a player a Friend or Clan request, or even a Whisper repeatedly. Doing so results in the player getting this Pony error code. As you might have realized by now, this issue isn’t caused by player hardware and such. It’s simply some players trying to suck the fun out of the game for other players. The problem has escalated to such a level that many players are now looking for an immediate fix for this issue. So, is there one yet? Well, continue reading to find out.

On May 20, 2024, the official Bungie Help Twitter handle acknowledged this error and promised to “resolve this issue as soon as possible”. In the meantime, as we stated in the earlier paragraph, they gave out a temporary solution for this problem. Essentially, what you need to do is turn off your Friend and Clan requests. This can be done by navigating to Settings and disabling Friend and Clan requests under the Social area. Along with that, Bungie also recommends setting Fireteam Invites to Friends Only or any other setting that you may prefer. Also, don’t forget to change the Text Chat Settings to Off. If not, you can alter the Whisper Chat setting to either Friends Only or Nobody.

We've been investigating an issue where players can receive invites that result in a PONY error code.
