Deep Rock Galactic: How to fix failed to join session

Deep Rock Galactic players have been having a rough time in the game lately. Some players have been running into a very annoying error that prevents them from joining game sessions. This can have a negative impact on the multiplayer aspect of their experience and trust me you do not want that. So today, we have decided to make a guide that will show you how to fix this annoying error in the game. Let’s get to it.

Deep Rock Galactic: How to fix failed to join the session

If you’re one of those Deep Rock Galactic players who have been getting a pop-up message that says failed to join the session, then you’re in the right place. Today, we’ll show you some possible fixes and workarounds to this error. Let’s get into it

  1. Once you open up the game, go to the Control Panel that is located in the middle of your home base. From here, you’re going to open the Mission Select screen.
  2. After you’re on the mission select screen, you will see a lot of missions being indicated by small icons on a map. When you select one of these, another screen will pop up.
  3. Now, on this new menu if you look towards the left, you’ll be able to see a search distance filter. If this setting is at anything other than close, then change it and set it to close.

If you’re on the PlayStation 5, then you can easily fix this error by going over to your friend list and joining a friend’s game. This usually works very well and eliminates the failed-to-join session error altogether. Though do keep in mind that you will only be able to join a game if your friends allow it. For example, trying to join the session of someone who is live streaming will probably not work in your favor.

Your error should now be gone. Contact the devs if the problem still exists and wait for them to put out an official fix for the issue. Restarting your router and/or system are also viable options to fix this error.

Conclusion

That concludes our article on how to fix the failed to join session error in Deep Rock Galactic. Now, you should be able to fix this error for yourself, so go out there and dominate. Visit Digistatement for more informative articles like the one you just read. Thank you for reading!
