The setting to change your resolution on Dead by Daylight isn’t actually found in the in-game settings. Don’t worry, though. We will show you a quick and easy method to change your resolution.
In case you are using an NVIDIA graphics card, I highly recommend you download the G-Force Experience application. It is a one-stop application for everything from advanced settings to resource management for your card. If you already have it installed, simply open it up and look for Dead by Daylight. Click on “Details”. On the right hand side, select the wrench icon. In the new window, you will be able to change your resolution as well as your display type. Also consider modifying your performance using the slider below, since a resolution change affects your graphics card.
If you do not use an NVIDIA graphics card, or would like to enable a custom resolution, follow these steps. Simply search on your Windows bar, %appdata%. This will open up your File Explorer. Navigate to AppData and select the Local folder here. Now, you should be able to find Dead by Daylight and select it. Once done, select Saved and then Config. Finally, open up WindowsNoEditor and select the GameUserSettings file. Use a text editor like notepad for ease of use. In this file, scroll till you find the options Resolution Size X, Resolution Size Y, Last User Confirmed Resolution Size X, and Last User Confirmed Resolution Size Y. All four of these options should have your preferred size options next to their equals signs. Obviously, X stands for the length of your screen and Y for the height of your screen. You can always change these options again whenever you need to. Feel free to play around with it for a while till you find that perfect resolution for your experience and performance.
