The Dead by Daylight 2v8 is going to be featured again from August 19 to September 2, 2025. The concept of this side-game was introduced to keep the players engaged who are waiting in the queue to play as Killers. This first started in July 2024 and has made comebacks during different seasons since then. The waiting time is unbearably long, and the developers have promised to look for a permanent solution. While this is the fourth time for this mode, there will not be any new killers added. In this article, we have covered all details related to the 2v8 event. The gameplay of 2v8 differs slightly from a normal game. The survivors must choose from 4 available classes, i.e., Guide, Medic, Scout, and Escapist. Each class brings its own set of abilities. The Escapist, for example, can reveal the aura of windows and pallets and grant a speed buff to nearby survivors. Similarly, there are pros and cons for the Killers, too. For example, any uncaged survivor will have their aura revealed whenever a generator is completed. Then there are also hatches for the endgame, when most of the survivors have been dealt with.

Apart from the game mechanics, the patch notes are discussed ahead. First of all, 2 Survivor classes have received some updates:
The Guide- Can reveal aura to other survivors upon repairing generators and opening exit gates. After completing 35% repair progress on a generator, you will gain a wire trap.
The Escapist- An active ability has been added that can be used to grant a sprint boost to survivors in the vicinity and have all rushed actions silenced.
Alongside daily login rewards, the following rewards were added: Gory Pinata charm, Life of the Party portrait, and Sharing time portrait.
