Bohemia Interactive’s FPS multiplayer survival title – DayZ, happens to be quite an influential piece of work in the video gaming industry. Based on a mod of the same name for Arma 2, it was released back in 2018 and, to this day, enjoys a pretty active player base. In fact, the Steam version alone saw a 24-hour peak of about 55,880 players at the time of publishing this (data sourced from Steam Charts). That’s nothing short of incredible, to say the least. New players continue to join in on the fun, but some of them seem quite curious about the availability of DayZ’s mod, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS support.
A lot of players prefer to know about things like this before purchasing a title. And it’s important to be aware of whether a game has support for features like modding, upscaling options, and such. Games can certainly be fun on their own, but mods just add a whole other layer of enjoyment to the game. Similarly, some players love to play games on wide screens whenever possible. Whatever your reasons may be, it’s always a better idea to know about things like this. So, does DayZ have mod, HDR, ultrawide, super ultrawide, AMD FSR 3, and DLSS support? Well, let’s go ahead and find out.
DayZ Mod, HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
Well, let’s start with mod support first. Players should be happy to know that DayZ absolutely has mod support. There are a wide variety of mods available for the game, with the Steam Workshop alone hosting over 50,000 of them. Suffice it to say, you will be having a blast playing DayZ with mods. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about HDR. DayZ doesn’t happen to support native HDR, even after all these years. But Windows Auto-HDR does work just fine with it, so at least there’s something you can use until Bohemia adds in native HDR.
So what about ultrawide (21:9) and super ultrawide (32:9) support? Well, players should have no trouble playing the game in either 21:9 or 32:9 aspect ratios, as DayZ has support for both. Sadly, that isn’t the case with both AMD FSR 3 and DLSS. Moreover, there’s no upscaling option in the game at all. DayZ players have been asking for DLSS and FSR support for quite a while, but so far Bohemia has refrained from adding either DLSS or FSR to the game. So, for now, all you can do is enjoy DayZ as it is. If the developers do add in DLSS or FSR in the future, we will be sure to update our readers on it.
