Dave the Diver Auto Supply: What is it?

Auto Supply in Dave the Diver

In a recent trend in the world of gaming, the popularity of indie games has seen a stark rise. MINTROCKET’s Dave the Diver is another indie title on the list that has caught the attention of fans. After a successful run in its Early Access phase for 8 months, the V1.0 release of the game came out on June 28th, 2023. In the game, you play as Dave, who works as a diver and catches fish during the daytime and manages a sushi restaurant at night. However, if there’s no proper management of the supplies, then you’ll run out of items sooner than expected and will have to go and catch fish much more frequently. As explained by the restaurant’s chef, Bancho, the auto supply in Dave the Diver can make the process easier. But how exactly does it work? Continue reading this guide to find out!

Selecting the menu for your restaurant in Dave the Diver actually works like a real-life restaurant. You pick up the fish that you want on the menu, you select how many of each fish should be on the menu, and then Bancho will prepare the dishes accordingly. However, there’s a disadvantage to using this method to put up the menu. This way, Bancho will prepare as many dishes as you ask him to prepare, and if some of these remain unsold, it will be a waste of the supply. This means you’ll run out of fish sooner than expected, and you will have to go hunting again. The auto supply mechanic fixes all that for you and acts as an efficient feature to prevent supply waste.

What is Auto Supply in Dave the Diver?

Auto Supply in Dave the Diver

When you start managing the sushi restaurant, your chef, Bancho, will let you know about the auto-supply feature in the game. However, something the developers haven’t been able to do is explain exactly what the auto feature is through the tutorials. Bancho mentions that it makes things more convenient, but how exactly does it do that? Well, here’s the explanation:

In Dave the Diver, while selecting the menu, you pick what kind of fish you want and how many of each fish you want to be prepared. Let’s take tuna as an example. Let’s consider that you’ve opted for tuna to be included in the menu, and you also specified that you want five of these prepared. If you receive five offers for tuna on the night, then it’s all good. However, if it’s less than five, then whatever amount of tuna remains unsold will need to be discarded completely. But thankfully, you have the auto-supply feature to your rescue. If you use auto supply, you would need to select only one tuna for the menu and place it under auto supply. With this feature activated, your chef won’t prepare the food beforehand. Instead, he will only prepare the dish when it’s ordered, saving you valuable resources.

If you want to opt for the auto-supply feature, it’s really simple. Select the types of fish you want on the menu, but only choose one of each item. Next, return to the Sushi Bar Menu, click on one item, and enable Auto Supply. Repeat this process for all of the items on the menu, and that’s it. This is how you will be able to turn on auto-supply in Dave the Diver and prevent wastage of supply. Hopefully, you will find this article helpful in answering your questions.
