Darkest Dungeon 2 is finally out after being in early access for over a year. Developed and published by Red Hook Studios, Darkest Dungeon 2 is a sequel to the critically acclaimed Darkest Dungeon. The eerie premise of DD2 focuses on human vulnerability and psychological fragility. That being said, many players have reported that their controller is not working while playing Darkest Dungeon 2 on PC. If you are facing the same issue and want to know more about it, you’re in luck. In this article, we will be discussing the same in detail, so continue reading till the end!
With the game’s out-of-early-access release on 8th May 2023, fans are excited to explore the dark world and win battles. Players face the strongest enemies while managing their stress levels in the game. The game offers a unique playstyle that takes a toll on their emotions as they cruise through the darkest dungeons. Newcomers are undeniably going to enjoy the unique gameplay as well. Currently, the game is only available on PC, but considering the fact that its predecessor was released on almost all popular platforms, it is expected that the sequel would eventually get a console release date. However, the controller not working issue has been troubling players on PC, and we have shared reasons for the same.
Darkest Dungeon 2 Controller/Gamepad Not Working Issue on PC: Is there any fix yet
Darkest Dungeon 2 has been officially released and is currently only available for Windows. When games are released on PC, players can connect their controllers/gamepads to play them, considering the game has full controller support. However, in Darkest Dungeons 2, this does not seem to be the case. Unfortunately, Darkest Dungeon 2 does not natively come with controller support on PC. This is the reason behind the issue of the controllers/gamepads not working in the game. Since the game natively does not support controller input on PC, there are no workarounds for the same. Players would need to wait for the devs to add controller support to the game in order for it to work.
Well, we have some good news to share. The developers have shared that they are working on bringing gamepad/controller support to their game, so it is just a matter of time before you can plug in your controller to a PC and play Darkest Dungeon 2. However, a release date for the same hasn’t been announced by the developers yet.
We are happy to report that we are currently working on both gamepad support and Steam Deck support for Darkest Dungeon II. These are both highly requested features. While we don’t have a firm ETA, know that they are both very much in the works.
For the time being, you need to enjoy the game as it is. This challenging single-player role-playing game has a lot to offer with its twisted and rogue-like gameplay. So, no matter how you plan on playing the game, it will be an amazing experience. This brings us to the end of the guide, and we hope the information provided was helpful.
