What is Crimson Desert?
Crimson Desert is an open world action and adventure game in the works, bound to release near the end of 2021. Featuring a single player mode, the game follows the lives of a band of mercenaries through a journey for their survival. Developed and Published by Pearl Abyss, the South Korean company had initial plans of releasing the game as a prequel to their previous title, Black Desert Online. However, the game reportedly transformed with a whole different objective, but centered around the same fantasy world.

The first official gameplay trailer for the game was released on YouTube during the The Game Awards 2020. The trailer saw the MC overcoming harsh terrains and battling adversaries, some of them even being mythical creatures, all rendered beautifully in the fantasy world created by Pearl Abyss. The game’s name aptly describes the main plotline, which involves the MC being the head of a band of mercenaries.
Following the release of this trailer, the developers have managed to attract a lot of enthusiastic fans. The game has had a lot of speculation surrounding it’s lore and it has helped turned the eyes of major gaming websites and other review outlets.
