Can you play Oxenfree 2(II) Lost Signal through Netflix on PC?

The long-awaited sequel to 2016’s Oxenfree is finally here. Developed by Night School Studio and published by Netflix Games, the game officially became available on Android, iOS, PlayStation 4 and 5, Windows, and Nintendo Switch on July 12, 2023. Taking place after the previous game’s events, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals was originally announced back in 2021 during the Nintendo Indie World Showcase. It suffered through multiple delays; however, the wait was worth it. Reception around the game has been quite positive, with most praise going towards its solid story and visually pleasing art style. The game’s popularity has certainly led many curious players to check it out, and some of those players want to know if Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals can be played through Netflix on PC.

Night School Studio was acquired by Netflix back in September 2021. However, that acquisition hasn’t affected the launch of Oxenfree 2. With the acquisition, Oxenfree is now available as a Netflix exclusive. Now, if you want to know about playing Oxenfree 2: Lost Signal through Netflix on PC, then you have come to the right place. Let’s see if it’s possible or not.

Let’s get straight to the point. At the time of publishing this article, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signal can’t be played through Netflix on PC. Now, tech-savvy players might suggest emulation, but we would like to stop before you walk that path. Even using an emulator like BlueStacks, you will not be able to play the game through Netflix on your PC.

Is there any way to play Oxenfree 2 through Netflix in my PC?

If you really want to play the game on a PC, we suggest you simply purchase it via Steam and install it from there. There’s no point in trying to play it through Netflix on PC, as there are reports of players failing to do so. And let’s be honest here: Steam is the best application when it comes to PC games.

Possibilities of getting to play Netflix-exclusive games on PC through the Netflix app?

To air our thoughts on this topic, we seriously think that the chances of this happening range from very slim to never. Netflix has been aggressively trying to penetrate the gaming market, and so far, they have done an amazing job. Titles like Spiritfarer, Kentucky Route Zero, Into the Breach, Immortality, and many more wouldn’t have seen their arrival on mobile platforms if it weren’t for the efforts made by Netflix.

These games are Netflix exclusives on mobile. The official website of Netflix clearly mentions that. So, if you have any hope of playing Netflix-exclusive games on PC through the Netflix app, it’s better to abandon those hopes. If you want to play current and future Netflix games, you’d better play them on mobile or buy their PC versions on Steam.
