Warzone, the new Activision’s battle royale has taken the world by storm over the last two weeks but not without its troubles. Although the game has been praised by players, the game is developing some rather unfortunate bugs and problems. Even when the game’s Subreddit has been proactive to provide potential solutions and fixes they seem to work for a short time until the problems arrive again. Players now await a permanent fix for the audio & crashing problems.
Audio Problems
Imagine an enemy not even needing to sneak up on you to kill you. That is what is happening with Warzone. A Battle Royale where you cannot hear the footsteps of the enemy is so frustrating. It makes reacting almost an impossible task. While all the vehicular sounds, aeroplane sounds and drops opening sounds are very loud.
There is also a problem with gunshot distancing sound, the sounds don’t scale with the distance making it hard to distinguish if someone is shooting at you from 80m or 8 feet.
Crash Problems
After the new solo update, a lot of player’s game freezes and eventually crashes to see the desktop. Some players also tried to play the game at the lowest setting but that takes out the fun from the game & low setting game also seems to be crashing. The shaders also seem to reinstall every time you launch the game with your progress wiped.
The Activision support got to the Subreddit and twitter to reach out to the players in hopes of collecting more data through a form filling. They also suggested some troubleshooting methods to try and solve the issue:
- Perform a clean install of graphics drivers
- Ensure your drivers are updated
- Ensure you have the latest version of Windows installed
- Run a Scan and Repair through BattleNet
But even these don’t seem like a permanent fix to some huge problems while also there is no word from Activision on the audio issues. Persistence of these issues might cause a drop in the player base of the game.
We are to see if the next update can solve the problems for Warzone or cause even more issues.
