Some players report facing lags in the multiplayer mode when playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 on their system. Likewise, it can be very distracting and annoying to face heavy lags. Thus, knowing how to resolve it is very important. A simple fix for lags in the game is to make changes to the DNS settings.

For PlayStation users –

Here are the required steps –

1) Firstly, you have to go to your PlayStation 5 Home screen.

2) Next up, you have to go to Settings and select Network. After going to Network, you have to select Settings.

3) Then, you have to select Set Up Internet Connection in Settings.

4) Now, you have to bring up options for the connection you are currently using. In the options, you have to select Advanced Settings and go down to DNS Settings. You have to change DNS Settings to Manual.

5) Then, you have to change the Primary DNS to 8.8.8.8. Likewise, you have to change the Secondary DNS to 8.8.4.4.

6) After doing so, you have to go to MTU Settings and change it to Manual. You have to then change MTU to 1472.

For Xbox users –

Here are the required steps –

1) First and foremost, you have to press the Xbox button on your controller and go to Settings.

2) Next up, you have to go to All Settings and select Network.

3) After going to Network, you have to go to Advanced settings and select DNS settings. Then, you have to go to Manual and enter DNS primary: 8.8.8.8, and secondary: 8.8.4.4

For PC users –

Here are the required steps –

1) First and foremost, you have to press the Windows Key + I to open the Windows Settings.

2) Next up, you have to go to Network & Internet.

3) Then, you have to click on the Change adapter options and select the network. After selecting your network, you have to right-click to bring up options.

4) Now, you have to select Properties and select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). After doing so, you have to go to properties and toggle the use of the following DNS server addresses – 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for Primary and Secondary respectively.
