Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is an upcoming MMORPG featuring vibrant anime-inspired visuals, building on the style of the original Blue Protocol. While the exact gameplay mechanics are not clear, we do have inputs from users who played the closed beta. The game features in-depth, anime-style combat moves, likely includes gacha mechanics for in-game purchases (pending confirmation), and supports upgrades through gear and crafting systems.

Blue Protocol Star Resonance PS5, XBOX, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PC release date and availability details
Blue Protocol Star Resonance will be released in the month of October 2025. We do not have any closure on the exact date yet; however, we do know that the closed beta test began on August 22. Access will be provided to players who pre-registered for the event. Access codes will be distributed gradually to avoid server congestion and crashing. The game will feature cross-platform play, but initially, it will only be released for PC, Android, and iOS.
For PC, the game can be accessed from Steam and Epic Games Store, while for Android, it’ll be available on Google Play. The initial version, named Blue Protocol, was released in 2023 for PC in Japan, with planned but unreleased versions for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
It was discontinued after a brief run in Japan in January 2025, and Shanghai Bokura Network Technology licensed the property from Bandai Namco to develop Blue Protocol: Star Resonance.
Thereafter, the development for Blue Protocol Star Resonance began, and recently, the pre-registration for both mobile devices and PC went live. It might not be available for some regions yet, which the users will have to verify for themselves.
Coming to PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, the game is not planned to release on these platforms currently. While for the Steam Deck, as the game will release on PC, so it’s likely to be playable on Steam Deck, though compatibility is not officially confirmed.
