Unfortunately, you cannot switch to a third-person perspective in Blacktail. You will need to play the game in the default first-person perspective view mode. Although it is quite disappointing that the developers did not add this feature, we need to understand that adding an additional perspective on gameplay is a lot of work. Note that we can see the complete character model in the third-person perspective mode. So, the devs need to create and render the whole model along with each animation that the character does. This might not seem like a big thing, but it adds tons of extra workload considering that The Parasight is a small indie team.
They might have limited resources, time, and budget for the game, which is why they decided on omitting such a feature.
