First of all, the confusion stems from the fact that, unlike other games, you do not have simple in-game options to change your character’s name. So, you will have to take things into your own hands and go under the hood to make these changes! Anyway, just follow these simple steps to edit your character’s name directly in the save file:
- Close the Game: First of all, make sure ATLYSS is not running to prevent any issues while editing the saved file.
- Access the Game Files: Open your Steam library. Right-click on ATLYSS and select “Browse Local Files” to open the game folder.
- Locate the Save File: In the game folder, open the “ATLYSS_DATA” folder. Inside, navigate to the “profileCollections” folder.
- Identify Your Character’s Save File Each save file corresponds to a slot:
- Slot 1 = File with “0”
- Slot 2 = File with “1”
- Edit the Save File: Right-click on the relevant save file and choose “Open with Notepad” (or any text editor). Look for the line starting with “nickName”. Replace the existing name with your desired character name.
