FromSoftware’s Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is yet another great title from the studio that gave us the masterpiece, Elden Ring. However, once again, like Elden Ring, the PC port of the game isn’t exactly up to par with the console version. Issues have been piling up a lot, and now another new one has surfaced recently. The “Brightness Setting” bug is frustrating to deal with and needs an immediate fix.
As the name itself suggests, this bug makes it so that the brightness in the game doesn’t function as it’s supposed to. Some players found their brightness setting option locked due to this bug. Plus, it’s just not limited to that. Sometimes the bug even leads to the screen turning super dark. So is there a fix for this issue? Let’s find out!
Armored Core 6 (AC6) Fires of Rubicon Brightness Setting Bug: Is there any fix yet
Since there’s no official fix for this issue so far, you can check out the following potential workarounds. Try these out and see if any of them are of help to you.
Turn off HDR –
It seems like for many, turning off HDR helped resolve this issue. As such, we suggest you try to do the same. You can do this by opening the in-game Settings menu and then clicking on System. Now, head to the Graphics tab and make sure that the HDR setting is turned off. Next, do the same with Windows Auto HDR. To disable it, press the Win + Alt + B keys together.
Restart Armored Core 6 –
Sometimes a quick and simple restart is all you need to fix a problem. While we can’t say that doing so would result in the same outcome, you should still give this a try. If you are still encountering the same issue, then follow the next workaround.
Update Display drivers –
It could be just that you haven’t updated your display drivers in a while, leading you to encounter this issue. The best thing to do here is to simply update those drivers, which you can do by
- Opening Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting it.
- Next, click on Display Adapters to expand it.
- Select the GPU under the Display Adapters option and right-click on it to select the Update Driver option.
- You will be presented with two options: Search automatically for drivers and Browse my computer for drivers. Choose the former. Let Windows handle the rest of the process.
Repair the game –
Currently, issues such as “Black Screen” and “Whitescreen Crash” could be resolved by repairing the game files, among other similar fixes. As such, we recommend you try this method. Just open Steam and then head to the library. From there, search and select Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, and then right-click on it. Select Properties > Local Files > Verify the integrity of game files.
Redownload –
Only go ahead with this workaround if none of the previously mentioned workarounds provide any meaningful results. Do note that proceeding with this will result in you losing your progress if you haven’t synced them on the cloud. However, that can be mitigated by simply saving your progress locally or through the cloud. Once you have done that, delete or uninstall the game, and then promptly start a re-download.
That said, we hope that the issue gets fixed after trying the given workarounds. For more guides and updates on Armored Core 6: Fire of Rubicon, check out DigiStatement. Also, read: Armored Core 6 (AC6) Fires Of Rubicon Photo Mode: How to use
