In case you haven’t heard, Studio Wildcard is closing the official network and servers of Ark: Survival Evolved later this year, in August. The studio has announced plans to replace its debut title with an Unreal Engine 5 remaster called Ark: Survival Ascended, which will also open its servers the same month as Ark: Survival Evolved closes. Do note that private servers will keep running for Ark: Survival Evolved as they are not affected by the sunsetting of the official ones. Regardless of whichever version you are planning to play, it’s imperative for players, especially newer ones, to get familiar with the game. Ark: Survival Evolved is pretty old, as the game officially launched in 2017. Well, various updates and DLCs over those years have pretty much turned the game massive in terms of content. And now, it houses a plethora of creatures, which is why trying to catch every single one without even trying them out is not something we suggest players do. Especially if you happen to be a newbie. If you didn’t already know, Ark: Survival Evolved has a bunch of “cheat” codes that players can use to perform various kinds of stuff. Spawn commands are one of them. Although obvious, a player can use them to spawn any creature in front of them, provided they know the spawn code of that particular creature. The spawn code needs to be correct; otherwise, nothing will be spawned. Since Desmodus is one of the many highly desired animals in the game, knowing its spawn command can be helpful. ARK Survival Evolved Desmodus Spawn Command & more details
Introduced last year in June 2022, Desmodus is a bat-like flying mammal that looks similar to an overgrown Onyc. This animal isn’t in the base game and is part of the Fjordur DLC. Well, the DLC is free, so you can go ahead and download it right now. Nintendo Switch and mobile users will have to sit this one out since the DLC is only available for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows platforms. Anyway, to summon Desmodus in Ark, first and foremost, open your admin command. Once opened, type in any one of the following spawn commands:
- admincheat summon Desmodus_Character_BP_C
- admincheat SpawnDino “Blueprint’/Game/Fjordur/Dinos/Desmodus/Desmodus_Character_BP.Desmodus_Character_BP'” 500 0 0 35
If you entered the command correctly, a Desmodus will spawn at your location. Well, when it comes to the domesticability of the Desmodus, it’s pretty great. Players can tame it, ride it, and, of course, breed it. Now, unlike most other animals in Ark: Survival Evolved, the Desmodus can’t be tamed using the usual knock-out method.
