A non-linear life simulation game that is equal parts chill and competitive. The game starts on a deserted island which depending on your location changes weathers, a new feature in the franchise. You can explore the island as a customizable character after buying a package from Tom Nook. There is no limit to the customization you can do on your character as all hairstyles, clothing, skins are available without any in-app purchases. From skin colors to facial styles that are not gender-specific this game has it all!
The game introduces a material conversion system that allows you to craft tools and furniture from the materials you acquire, which can be used to decorate the interior and exterior of your self-made paradise. The game also introduces Nook Miles, an in-game currency that you gain from completing tasks and can be used to purchase premium content. You can also invite friends and other animals to your island, influencing them to create their homes according to you.
But you can only work on one single island with one Switch device.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has the same classic villagers that are present in the previous versions of the franchise with new interesting additions. You can invite these villagers to live in your home and listen to Alligator Villagers
their snarky commentary on your creation. Some villagers have special roles like merchants or traders.
