Alone in the Dark Mod, HDR, Ultrawide (21:9), Super Ultrawide (32:9), AMD FSR 3 & DLSS Support Details
The original game, Alone in the Dark (2008), upon which this new version is based, has mod support, with an active Nexus Mod page still thriving today. However, since Alone in the Dark 2024 was recently released, the modding community hasn’t had enough time or support to create mods yet. But given some time, there’s a high chance we’ll see all sorts of mods emerge for the game. Coming to the topic of HDR, the game offers HDR support with the option to toggle it in the in-game video settings. However, there are many players who have not been impressed by the quality of HDR. Nonetheless, it’s important to note that the game does support HDR for those who want to utilize it.
A community contributor mentioned that while the game does support widescreen aspect ratios, there’s a visual bug where white bars appear on the sides of the main menu. They also mentioned that the bug doesn’t impact gameplay or the pause menu. This is likely to be fixed in the first patch. Now, the main thing is that the support for ultrawide screens has been confirmed and there are reports of players who have had no issues playing it at 21:9 aspect ratios. For the 32:9 aspect ratios, we did find a screenshot from a player who managed to play at a whopping 5120x1440p resolution. This also suggests that the game is indeed playable on super ultrawide monitors!
Finally, coming to DLSS and FSR support, both DLSS and AMD FSR are supported in the game, offering you the option to enhance performance and image quality. While DLSS 3.1 is supported by the game, only AMD FSR 2 is supported, and not FSR 3!
So there you have it! All the available info on Mod, HDR, Ultrawide, Superultrawide, DLSS, and AMD FSR 3 support in Alone in the Dark. That should have cleared all your doubts now.
