Video game publisher and tournament organizer Riot Games, Inc. is an American company. Its headquarter’s lie in West Los Angeles, California, Brandon Beck and Marc Merill founded the company in September 2006 to develop League of Legends. Since then, the company has developed several League of Legends spin-off games, as well as a separate first-person shooter called Valorant.
Because it is a publisher of League spin-offs, Riot Games oversees its production through its publishing arm, Riot Forge. After being acquired by Tencent in 2011, Riot is now part of the Chinese conglomerate.
As fans would know, Riot Games is retiring League+ and replacing it with the brand new ‘Riot Mobile’ app. The app will be made available on iOS and Android devices. Originally released in 2019, League+ served as a mobile companion to Riot’s video games. These included Fortnite. Riot Games also wants to introduce a new mobile companion that can serve as a hub for all of its content. This is because the developers intend to transition into animated series and other products that are outside of the world of gaming. During the next few months, Riot Mobile will rebrand League+ as Riot Mobile. It will also undergo stability and performance fixes. So, when is the Riot mobile app download availability aka release date set?
Riot Mobile App Download Availability
As confirmed by the developers, Riot Mobile will launch on October 4th, 2021. At the same time, existing League+ users will be automatically upgraded to Riot Mobile. This is by far one of the biggest projects the company has invested its time and money in. The intention of the app is to help players discover new content and activities to engage with, stay informed across all of Riot’s titles and events, and connect with other Riot players outside of the game.
Esprts and social features will be prominent in the new app as well as existing content. It will have a number of new features, including:
- Profiles of players
- The ability to chat with people from different games and regions
- Messaging & Social Features
Now that Riot’s mobile games have been a huge success, and the company is expanding its fictional universe with new games, events, and series set in the same world, it makes sense to create a single universal platform that allows fans to learn everything that might interest them at one time.
