Void Bastards is a popular hit amongst Science Fiction game lovers. Australian developers Blue Manchu developed this game, and Humble Bundle take the credit for publishing the game. You are a rehydrated prisoner inside a spaceship. But this spaceship is stranded on a dangerous nebula, with the space pirates and space whales nearby waiting to hunt you down as prey. You need to locate ships inhabited by dangerous “citizens” for survival. Therefore, you work on fixing your spaceship for a final jump.
But in the game, you will notice a comic book style of artwork. The story seems to be straight out of a popular comic book. The game has got a solid plotline, making the gameplay loop very addictive. In an action game, a first-person shooter needs a range of weapons and Void Bastards delivers here as well, with a range of gadgets and weapons available for upgrade. Henceforth the game gets difficult as you get into the “depths” of the nebula’s bowels. The enemies would be getting tougher as you sink deeper into the “depths”. But despite some solid shooting mechanics and a great soundtrack to amplify the dark environment across the game, there are quite some loopholes in the game as well.
The single-player plotline is pretty weak, compared to most of the science fiction, action or first-person shooting games.
