The pandemic brought in a lot of revenue for the gaming companies since several people had a lot of time on their hands. While this was true for most of the games on the market, Pokemon Go was a rare exception to this change. The mechanics of the game made it hard for people to properly play the game since no one could step out to explore.

To deal with this, Niantic introduced several new changes to the game. Niantic made access to in-game landmarks easier, so people wouldn’t cluster at a single place. However, they have announced reverting these changes, which has caused an uproar in the player base of the game.
