New World, a game currently in development by Amazon game studios does not have Russian as an option for language and this seems to be an inconvenience to many players.
New World
New World is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that takes place on a magic-filled island Aeternum where the concept of life and death doesn’t seem to exist.
You step onto the island after a horrifying ship-wreck leaving you as the sole survivor with no supplies and meant to fend for yourself on this mysterious island Aeternum.
New World has entered its closed beta testing phase after a long alpha testing phase and a 12-day long preview back in August 2020 during which all players were allowed to test out the game and provide feedback regarding mechanics, gameplay, and other suggestions which could improve the experience of players in Aeternum.
Language options in New World
There are many issues players run into during alpha and beta tests of the game however some were surprised to hear about the lack of their language support in New World.
According to an official reply from the New World team on Twitter, the game only supports the following languages listed below
- English UK
- English US
- Spanish
- Brazillian
- Portuguese
- Italian
- French
- German
- Polish
Though still a good amount of language support, many players from Russia were distraught to find out Russian is not available as an option for language in the official game.
This was reported when a user asked the New world team whether Russian will be available as a language option in the closed beta test.
The New World team has since mentioned in a tweet that though the Russian language was not initially planned for the closed beta or release, they will be passing along the request to the developer team of the game.
