Maneater is an extremely goofy game that was released as a surprise by Tripwire Interactive, the makers of Killing Floor, in May 2020, and allows the player to take control of a shark that gains superpowers, and is able to devour pretty much anything that dares to enter the ocean. On April Fools Day of this year, Tripwire dropped the reveal trailer for a new DLC to the game, called the Truth Quest. Thankfully, it wasn’t actually an April Fools Day prank, but a legit expansion to the game. Let’s take a look at everything we know about the Truth Quest DLC to Maneater, and when it could possibly be coming out.
Check out the reveal trailer for the DLC here:
The plot of the game sets up a revenge arc for you, a baby bull shark, to exact vengeance against Scaly Pete, a man that killed your mother when he attempted to remove you from her womb. The player can eat other aquatic life, as well as bounty hunters that are sent to kill you, and their resources to gain strength and size, eventually allowing you to evolve into a megashark.
Now, let’s take a look at what the new DLC to the game will be adding.
First up, the maximum level cap has been increased from 30 to 40, along with five new organ evolution slots becoming available to power your shark. Additionally, there are now five new bounty bosses to contend with. That is not all that has been upgraded in the enemies, with a new Uber Apex Predator now roaming the depths.
The release date for the Truth Quest DLC to Maneater has not been revealed exactly, with the only clue being given is that it would be coming out in the summer of this year. Well, we’re well and truly in the middle of summer 2021 now, so we can hope for an official release within one month or so, hopefully!
