While Forza Horizon 4 continues to suffer from a period of server instability (which you can read more about here), new leaks are surfacing online that seem to suggest that we could be looking at a 2021 launch for Forza Horizon 5! Let’s take a look, and see if they could indeed be authentic or are just hearsay.
First, let’s take a look at the person who’s leaking this information. It’s well-known Xbox insider Klobrille via his Discord server. While he has a fairly clean track record when it comes to leaks, it must be said that he got it all wrong last year, one of the worst years in his reporting ever, I would argue. The first tweet in question is of him talking of 5 new AAA games that are set to be announced at this year’s Xbox Showcase. While he does not name any of them, the information we already have regarding the development of other games would suggest that two of these are most definitely Forza Horizon 5 and Wolfenstein 3. The fact that he doesn’t take Forza Horizon 5’s name here might be putting off, but not to worry, since, in a later chat, Klobrille was asked what would be the first showcase for the Xbox Series X at the Xbox Game Showcase. His reply was “FH5”. This may have come as something of a surprise for many since the new Halo game was expected to be the first one showcased on the Xbox Series X. This does not seem to be the case, and a Forza Horizon 5 set in Mexico could very well be on for a September or October 2021 release. We hope you enjoyed this coverage of gaming leaks, we’ll be back with more soon!
