If you play Overwatch on PS4, there’s a good chance you’ve had to face the BC-153 error at least once. The same goes for the BC-152 on Xbox One. On PC, the same error is shown as a BC-101 error. We will go over the fixes for this error in this article.
Restart your internet provider.
Ah yes, the age-old “turn off and back on again” fix. If you’re using Wi-fi, restart your router. If you’re on an Ethernet connection, unplug it and plug it back in again. If this fixes it, there’s nothing better, since it takes zero effort!
If you use security software (PC Users)
Try to update, suspend, or uninstall your antivirus or firewall software. This is because the security software may be mistakenly seeing Overwatch login as a threat and preventing it from working. If you’d rather not leave your device exposed, the alternative is to reach out to the security provider’s technical support department.
Complete a Looking Glass Test.
Blizzard provides a very useful test called the Looking glass test. It helps identify the causes of any network issues you may be facing. Just open up your browser on your PS4, Xbox One, or PC, and go to this link. If the test informs you that it is a problem on Blizzard’s end, well, just wait till their servers are back up again, and restart Overwatch!
Update router firmware.
Your network configuration may be causing this error to occur. To fix this, simply update your router firmware. You could also reach out to your internet service provider and find out if they are experiencing technical issues at the moment.
Let’s hope the many fixes listed out in this article help you solve the problem and get back to playing Overwatch. If the problem persists, you should reach out to Blizzard Support.
