Kroger was founded in the year 1883 at Cincinnati, Ohio by Bernard Kroger and it is the biggest grocery chain at America. It has been operating a large number of retail establishments starting from supermarkets to convenience stores at 34 states in US and a few of their chains include Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Food 4 Less and Kwik Shop. The company boasts around 3,000 locations at United States but has not yet expanded its business to overseas. Still, it has been named as the second biggest hypermarket chain. Kroger has shown outstanding growth with around 123.3 billion dollars in terms of total sales in 2019 which is an increase from 76.6 billion dollars sales in 2009.
A survey of 2018 has also reported that almost a third of Americans shop on a regular basis at Kroger grocery stores. Because Americans have many choices on places to purchase groceries and so competition in grocery retail sector is fierce and is important for grocery retailer to earn some profit and trust of the customers to stay in business. The company has been termed as the second most trustworthy food retailer after Walmart at United States.
When we talk about payment modes at Kroger, it is very evident to ask that whether cashless payments are available or not. Different platforms are providing cashless payment options and one of them is the Cash app. It is a service for mobile payment that has been created by Square, Inc., and lets you to transfer money to others with the use of a mobile phone app. Since February 2018, it has around 7 million active users. Well you cannot use Cash app directly for payments in Kroger and there is no official answer on whether you can use the app to add money on Kroger Pay for payments.
At present, Kroger accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express credit cards. Other contactless payment systems have not been introduced yet on Kroger.
