Call of Duty the popular franchise developed by Activision is allegedly getting a stand-alone title as COD Zombies. This was leaked on Twitter by _Tom_Henderson_.
Call of Duty History
Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise published by Activision. Starting out in 2003, it first focused on games set in World War II. Over time, the series has seen games set in the midst of the Cold War, futuristic worlds, and outer space. Call of duty zombies is already a title on ios published in 2009. It was a spin-off of the original PC series. It had multiplayer cooperative gameplay and was developed by Ideaworks Game Studio, Treyarch.
What does this new title mean for the Franchise?
Zombie Mode is not new news as it is available in pretty much most of the Black ops games. After the success of this mode, they might want to make this into a full-fledged game. Most of the Call of Duty titles are story-driven or based on campaigns and Zombies as a separate game would mean a good horror and thriller to be added in a fun experience. This would also mean that people who don’t want a story-mode game can just buy this and shoot away.
The big question!
This is all well and good but what platform will the game be released on? That is the big question. Call of Duty: Zombies was a huge success on iOS despite its lacklustre graphics and Activision would want this success to translate over to Consoles and PC. The audience would also like to play zombies as a stand-alone title on the big screen. We all hope the game will be for the latest consoles and PC with cutting edge graphics , making this an enjoyable experience and bringing back the awesome gameplay of Call of Duty: Zombies.
