Due to visa issues, Counter Logic Gaming and Team Liquid had to review their team roster for the LCS Lock In kickoff.
THE SEASON STARTS WELL
Last December, Riot Games presented the various changes for the 2021 LCS season, with the objective of developing the North American scene and making it more competitive, especially at the international level. The 2021 season will kick off on January 15 with the first day of LCS Lock In; at the format level, each group will play in a four-day round robin; the top four from each pool will be divided into an eight-team single elimination tree to determine the Lock In champion. The winner will pocket $ 150,000 (plus an additional $ 50,000 for a charity of their choice).
Although the teams and Riot Games have taken precautionary measures, two North American structures will most certainly have to start this 2021 season with replacements due to visa issues. According to the latest information circulating on the web, Team Liquid finds itself forced to establish Jonathan “Armao” Armao (formerly Grig) in place of Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen, while Counter Logic Gaming will have to compose without Finn “Finn” Wiestål and Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen, both replaced by Colin “Solo” Earnest and Raymond “Griffin” Griffin (formerly Wiggily). These three European competitors are still awaiting approvals to obtain their visa,
This isn’t the first time Team has faced visa issues with a new jungler. In 2020, Broxah also encountered visa issues that prevented her from joining the team during the first weeks of Spring Split.
