Respawn’s free to play first person shooter Apex Legends’ Season 4 is about to complete it’s lifecycle, as the developer will release the Trailer for Season 5 today! The trailer titled “Legacy of a thief” is another one of those beautifully rendered CGI narrative driven trailers Apex Legends is known for. The trailer will launch at 10:30pm IST today, 5th March.
Season 5 is set to launch on May 12th, 2020 dubbed as “Fortune favours” and it will bring along with itself a New Legend, new weapons, map changes, new mode and much more. Check the premiere below:
Lose End
From the Season 4 trailer, we learnt of a new character called ‘Revenant’ , brutally murdering the parents of a young girl. The Season 5 trailer reads “When Revenant killed Marcos Andrade all those years ago, he felt a lose end. Now she’s all grown up.” With that, Respawn introduces us to the new Legend joining the Apex Games. Her name is Loba, and she is out to take revenge.
“Loba is a stylish, sophisticated and resourceful. Whatever Loba wants, she takes. Good luck stopping her.” From earlier speculations and Loba’s character description we learn that she is a master thief. Data miners have found a model for her in season 4 game files, with the model showcasing her boasting a large device hooked to her belt loop that may be her jump pack. She also fashions a bracelet that allows her to teleport.
Her abilities are also speculated to be the following:
- Eye for quality : Loba can see through walls and open hidden compartments in loot bins.
- Burglar’s best friend: Loba can throw a disc to teleport.
- Black market boutique: Loba can place a device and steal all the nearby loot.
From that it is clear that her abilities will be focused around teleportation and acquiring the best loot.
New Weapon(s)
The rumour of the addition of two new weapons has been floating around for time now. Season 5 is set to feature The Void and The Sidewinder.
The Void will be an energy based SMG, but given the information that Respawn is reworking how the energy weapons work in game, it’s release can be held for the time being. The Sidewinder on the other hand is a Grenade Launcher from the Titanfall 2 universe, a game also developed by Respawn. It was an anti Titan weapon in the latter and is set to make a debut in the Apex Games.
Map Changes
In King’s Canyon, two data miners Shrutgal and iLootGames found a bracelet similar to that of Loba’s. Upon picking that up an underground area was revealed in the minimap in the proximity of Skull town. Could this be the new changes being brought to King’s Canyon?
Additional Features
Season 5 will add a Quest Mode to the game. It’s description reads “Hunt for treasure and answers in the new season’s quest. Those who complete the journey will be richly awarded”.
This new mode will have players hunting for treasures and answers with players gaining rich rewards upon completing set tasks.
There will be over 100 exclusive items including Legendary Skins, Apex Packs and new Battle Pass content too in season 5!
