Peak Game, the challenging survival and exploration experience, is built on mastering your environment. As you progress in the game, you will come across various types of ropes (rope spools, rope cannons, and pitons) scattered across the island, found in luggage after the plane crash. Among the many tools available to players, the rope is essential for scaling cliffs, creating ziplines, and navigating terrain. However, many new players struggle to use it properly due to the lack of a clear in-game tutorial. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about ropes in Peak Game: how to equip them, their types, and when and where to use them.
In PEAK, ropes are super important tools for climbing mountains. They help you save your energy (stamina), as using a rope takes less effort than climbing freely, which is a huge help on long or tough parts of the mountain, especially if you’re tired or hurt. Ropes also let your team work together better; one person can set up a rope for others to climb, making sure everyone stays safe and keeps moving forward. Whether it’s a rope to climb up, one to launch to a higher spot, or a bridge to cross gaps, ropes let you get past tricky areas, make climbing safer, and help you reach new places on the mountain.

Peak Game Rope: How to use it
Rope Spool
The rope spool is your most common and often your first encounter with rope mechanics. It’s the go-to tool for deploying a lifeline downwards from a higher vantage point, primarily to assist teammates below.
How to Use It: Equip the Rope Spool from your inventory. Once equipped, use your mouse’s scroll wheel to gradually unravel the rope, extending it to your desired length. You’ll see the rope spool out in real-time. Position yourself facing a stable, climbable surface (a cliff face, sturdy rock, or even a tree trunk). Hold left-click to firmly tie a knot and anchor one end of the rope. The rest of the rope will then drop downwards, creating a climbable path.
Rope Cannon
The Rope Cannon offers a solution for launching a rope upwards to higher areas from a lower position. This is invaluable when you can’t get to a high point to deploy a spool.
How to Use It: Equip the Rope Cannon from your inventory. Aim at a climbable surface that’s higher than your current position and within the cannon’s range. You’ll see a clear indicator when you have a valid target. Left-click to fire the rope. It will instantly launch and anchor to the targeted spot, with the rope then dropping down for climbing.
Chain Cannon
When vertical isn’t the challenge, but a gaping chasm or a wide river stands in your way, the Chain Cannon becomes your best friend. This unique tool creates a sturdy horizontal rope bridge.
How to Use It: Equip the Chain Cannon. Aim at a suitable anchor point directly across the gap you wish to bridge. This typically needs to be a stable rock face or designated anchor spot. Fire to launch the chain. It will extend and anchor, forming a walkable bridge.
