Foundation is a city-builder simulation that focuses on the medieval era, featuring organic development, resource management, and such. In the game, your goal is to manage your village, keep the villagers happy, and, of course, expand it. When you start the game, you will have limited resources at hand. But as you progress, more and more supplies of resources will enable you to fortify your village, expand its area, and upgrade its infrastructure. But wait, are you wondering how to upgrade bridges and walls in Foundation? If yes, then consider reading this guide, as we have shared all the details regarding the same.
Building bridges and walls in Foundation is quite easy. But unlike building, upgrading them isn’t as straightforward as you might think. This is because the game doesn’t have a dedicated Upgrade or Replace button for the already constructed bridges or walls. So, if you wish to upgrade any bridge or wall, first, you will need to demolish the already-constructed ones and then build an upgraded version of them.

Foundation Game: How to upgrade Bridges/Walls
There are multiple types of bridges and walls available for you to build in Foundation. At the start of your journey, only a handful of options will be present for you to choose from when building walls or bridges. These include Wooden Wall, Wooden Bridge, etc. With time and resources, the option to create stone walls, stone bridges, and so on will be unlocked. But how to actually upgrade them?
As mentioned earlier, to upgrade an existing bridge/wall, you will first need to demolish the existing one. Simply select the existing monument and then demolish it. Next, head over to the Build Public Buildings tab, and then select the Monument option. Here, you will find the option to build Stone Bridge as an upgrade. Currently, there is no system that allows you to replace the existing bridge or wall and upgrade it automatically. You will need to do it manually for the time being.
Replace Mode Incoming
The good news is that the developers have shared that they will be bringing a Replace Mode that will allow players to upgrade their constructions directly. This is part of the Post-Release Short-Term Roadmap shared by the developers so expect an update with this new Replace Mode soon. Right now, there is no official release on when this update will go live. If we get more information regarding the same, we will make sure to update this guide accordingly.
