The Euro 2024 and the Copa America 2024 Cup have ended. The 2023–24 season has wrapped up and we got to see Lamine Yamal and Messi lifting the respective trophies! All in all, this season for football fans has been nothing less than a rollercoaster ride. Anyway, it is not just the real-life football season that is about to get a reset! Even EA is coming out with a new EA FC game in September 2024. EA FC25 will be the second installment from EA after the deal with FIFA has come to an end. That being said, if you have been trying to play EA FC 25 through the beta access codes and are facing issues, consider reading this guide for more details on the situation.
The EA SPORTS FC 25 Closed Beta is currently live and runs from August 6, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. UTC until August 27, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. UTC. It is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC (Steam and the EA app), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Beta features modes like Career Mode, Ultimate Team, and Clubs, though not all modes are accessible to every player. Assuming you already have access to the closed beta code and are still unable to download or play the game, here is what’s up with it not working right now.
EA FC25 beta not working: How to fix it
One of the EA community managers has responded to these reports. So from this, we can assume that the officials are at least somewhat aware of the issue. However, despite this, there isn’t a single permanent fix available at the moment. What we have instead are some potential solutions that may be effective:
Check the library
To determine if the game is available in your console library, start by pressing the Guide button on your controller. From there, go to Manage games and apps and then select See All. Next, choose Full Library and then Owned. This is where you should be able to find EA FC25. If it is not there, perhaps you have not been invited to the beta in the first place.
Different name
Here is another point to make note of: the game might not appear as “EA SPORTS FC™ 25” in everyone’s library. Instead, it may be listed under different names, such as “LoremIpsum25_XSX” for Xbox Series X|S or “LoremIpsum25_X1” for Xbox One. To find the game, search for these names in your library or store, as it could be listed under one of them depending on your console.
Restart Your Device
If the game is in your library and you cannot access it, you can try restarting your device. While doing so, make sure to unplug and power it off completely, and then turn it back on after giving it some time to rest. If you are lucky, this simple step will fix the issue for you.
Xbox Series X fix
After redeeming the code and receiving an email confirmation for the “purchase”, if the game still doesn’t appear in the library, the first step is to open the order in the Microsoft Account and click on “EA SPORTS FC 25 Closed Beta.” This action opens a bundle, and within it, there should be an option for “EA SPORTS FC 25 Closed Beta Xbox Series X|S”. Clicking on that will take you to the game’s page in the Xbox Store. Once on the game info page, the next step is to add the game to the wishlist by clicking on the heart icon. Then, by opening the Xbox Store on the console and navigating to the wishlist, the game can be accessed from there.
Generate a new code
If you’re still having trouble accessing the game, try generating a new code. To generate a new code, you need to sign up for EA Playtesting and enable email communication from EA to be able to get a code for the closed beta. So, do so, and if you are lucky, you should get the code.
Check Internet Connection
Another step is to verify your internet connection. A stable and strong connection is crucial for accessing online features. So, check your network settings to confirm that you are connected to the internet. If you’re experiencing issues, try restarting your router or modem, or connecting to a different network to see if that resolves the problem.
Contact Support
If restarting your device and checking your internet connection do not resolve the issue, contacting support may be necessary. Reach out to the customer service team or technical support for the game or platform you’re using. Provide them with detailed information about the problem you’re experiencing, including any error messages or specific issues. Support teams can offer more targeted assistance and troubleshooting steps tailored to your situation, and they may be able to provide solutions or escalate the issue if needed.
With these workarounds, we hope that you were able to get into the closed beta for FC25 and see how different and better is it from EA FC24.
