Kingdom Hearts is an extremely popular action RPG series from Square Enix. The first Kingdom Hearts title of the same name came out back in 2002. Fast forward to 22 years later, and we have yet another Kingdom Hearts game, Kingdom Hearts IV, on the cards. However, Square Enix didn’t only stop with the announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV. They wanted to give the fans something that’d keep them hooked on the series. With this intention, Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX was announced. As the name suggests, this is an HD remastered collection of six Kingdom Hearts classics. However, as of now, after the game’s recent debut on Steam, Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 is not working properly on a few AMD GPUs. In fact, this was confirmed by the developers themselves. Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX came out on Steam on June 13, 2024. If you’re a fan of the popular series, then you can head over to Steam and download this game. However, the gaming experience hasn’t been all smooth with Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX. Especially if your device is using an AMD GPU, then there’s a high chance that KH-HD won’t be running well on your system. The developers have actually confirmed this issue. They acknowledged that Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX has progress saving issues when running on a few AMD GPUs. What did they exactly have to say? Let’s find out!

The idea behind KH-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX is actually a great one. For the fans of the series, this is one kind of remastered experience of the classics. However, the good news isn’t for everyone. Many players use AMD GPUs to run games, and that’s where the problem starts with this game. The game isn’t working properly on several AMD GPUs. So, is there any fix yet?

Now, according to sunilg, a developer profile on Steam, several Kingdom Hearts titles from Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX have fallen susceptible to this issue. According to them, there are three titles that aren’t working properly on AMD GPUs. These are – Kingdom Hearts Final MIX, Kingdom Hearts II Final MIX, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final MIX. Furthermore, the developers have also announced the AMD GPUs that are affected by the issue. So, there are two affected GPUs: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.

However, other AMD GPUs can face such issues as well, as players reported encountering the same. For instance, Steam user Lugel claimed that they’re facing the issue while running the game on a system with an AMD Radeon RX 6750 XT as well.

As for an official fix for the problem, we think that it’ll be announced soon. The developers explained that they’re presently determining a timeline for a potential fix for the issue. However, until the fix is available, there isn’t much that you can do at your end. Unfortunately, it looks like you’re going to have to wait for the official fix if you’re facing the Kingdom Hearts-HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX not working on AMD GPUs issue.
