With the release of The Outlast Trials, the horror genre adds yet another new horror co-op title. There’s already a lot of fun stuff to do in the game, but players want more. And for a lot of multiplayer games, seasons are the preferred method of introducing more content into a game. Developer Red Barrels has confirmed that The Outlast Trials will be getting its Season 1 update soon and players want to know everything about it. So, let’s go ahead and find out all about this.
The Outlast Trials Season 1 Release Date & more details
At the time of publishing this, developer Red Barrels hasn’t shared a specific date for the start of Season 1 for The Outlast Trials. However, the devs have announced that Season 1 of The Outlast Trials will arrive this summer. So, based on this, it is expected that the update will be released in June–September 2024.
Now, while we might not have any specific date for Season 1, we do know some things that will arrive with it. Red Barrels has stated that Season 1 will be a major update and will feature a lot of new content. There are going to be new trials, prime assets, rigs, amps, rewards, and, of course, events. Now, once again, Red Barrels hasn’t shared any details or information on all this upcoming Season 1 content but we are sure that they will start to do so when the release date approaches.
While fans are certainly excited for Season 1, there seems to be confusion among the community regarding trials. The Roadmap post for the game states “a New Trial” but the accompanying image says “New Trials”. And thanks to that, there’s currently a big ongoing discussion in the community in regards to whether they will get only one trial during season 1 or more. Then there’s also the long-awaited Prime Asset – Whitehorn. Many are of the opinion that the new Prime Asset coming in Season 1 is Whitehorn and there’s a high chance that’s true. However, we will have to wait for Red Barrels to confirm that. After all, it could also be another Prime Asset. All in all, there are a lot of things we don’t know about the upcoming Season 1. However, we are sure that more information will be made available on it in the near future.
