South Korean video game developer and publisher, Nexon just recently announced their upcoming title – Vindictus: Defying Fate. Nexon released an official trailer of the game on February 29, 2024, and ever since then, the hype around the game has skyrocketed. Vindictus: Defying Fate is scheduled for a pre-alpha test soon, and a lot of players want to know if the game will have multiplayer and PvP modes.
For the uninitiated, Vindictus: Defying Fate is set in the same franchise as the 2010 MMORPG Vindictus. However, unlike Vindictus, this latest title isn’t an MMO, nor is it a soulslike. It is, in fact, an action RPG. Currently, there’s no release date for the game, but it is planned for a console and PC launch. Now, there’s a lot about it that fans don’t know about and that includes whether it will come with multiplayer and PvP modes. So, let’s go ahead and find out.
Vindictus Defying Fate Multiplayer & PVP modes: Will they be available?
Let’s start with the upcoming alpha test scheduled to run from March 13th to 18th. Well, Nexon has made it clear that the first alpha test will be entirely single-player focused. So, what about multiplayer and PVP modes? Well, starting with the former, players should be happy to know that Vindictus: Defying Fate will get a multiplayer mode. In the game’s FAQ post, Nexon stated that they will be adding multiplayer to the game along with the regular single-player mode.
“Is it a single-player game?
A: Only single-player mode is available in the pre-alpha test.
The dev team is planning to add multi-player mode in addition to the single-player mode which will be the main play mode in the launch version.”
All in all, multiplayer is confirmed. What about PvP? Unfortunately, the developers are still undecided on that. One major thing that Nexon has talked about is that the feedback from the alpha test is pretty important. It is so important that it will affect how the game is developed. Here’s what they said:
“Do you have plans to add PVP content in future builds?
A: Plans about adding PVP content in future builds are to be decided.
Please note that your feedback for the pre-alpha test will affect the future direction of the game development process. We highly encourage the users to share feedback and suggestions that will be carefully reviewed.”
As you can see, whether PvP will be added to the game or not is highly dependent on player feedback from the pre-alpha test.
