Thunderoak Interactive’s upcoming title, Godsworn, has garnered a lot of attention recently thanks to the ongoing Steam Next Fest demo. That’s not the only thing, though. Godsworn happens to be an RTS title, a genre that doesn’t really have that many new games under it. Godsworn already has an early access release date of March 28, 2024, for PC, but many players also want to know if they will be able to play the game on PC handhelds like the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and the Lenovo Legion Go.
RTS as a genre has a number of great games under it. From the likes of Age of Empires II, Red Alert 2, Starcraft II, The Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, and many more. And hopefully, Godsworn will also be another game among these. PC players are already confirmed to have a whole lot of fun, but what about those who want to play the game on PC handhelds like the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and the Lenovo Legion Go? Well, here’s all the information we have on this.
Godsworn Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally & Lenovo Legion Go Support Details
As of now, Godsworn’s developer and publisher, Thunderoak Interactive, haven’t made any announcements regarding PC handheld support. So far, the only platform Godsworn has been confirmed to release is on PC via Steam and that’s unlikely to change given that the game is supposed to be released in just a few weeks on March 28, 2024. And while there might be no official info available on this subject right now, we can attest to the statement that you will be able to enjoy Godsworn on all three PC handhelds: the Steam Deck, Asus Rog Ally, and the Lenovo Legion Go.
Now you might be asking why we are so confident that you will be able to play Godsworn on these devices. Well, the answer is simple. Because the game runs perfectly fine on the Steam Deck. Before the currently ongoing demo for Steam Next Fest, Godsworn had a similar demo in the past too. And during those demos, players tried playing the game on the Steam Deck and the game ran just fine. However, since it’s an RTS game, the controls needed a bit of tweaking. Other than that, Godsworn ran without any issues at all.
Now, as the above image shows, Thunderoak is interested in getting Godsworn verified. But when that will happen is something we don’t really know. It could be during early access or when version 1.0 is released, which is slated to be next year in 2025.
Steam Deck runs the game fine but what about the Rog Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go? Well, these two devices wouldn’t also have any issues running the game. Their processor is much more powerful than the Steam Deck, and so if the Steam Deck can run Godsworn, so can the Rog Ally and the Lenovo Legion Go. The major issue is going to be control schemes. That’s something that will need some work.
Since the Steam Next Fest is currently going on, we recommend fans download the demo on whatever PC handheld they are using and check out the Godsworn experience. If you like the demo, don’t forget to wishlist the game on Steam.
