2024 is just getting started and we already have so many unique and fun games to play and look forward to. And among these, Southfield is one such game. Developed and published by Radical Forge, Southfield was announced recently, with an announcement trailer. From what the trailer has shown so far, Southfield is offering a unique take on the sandbox farm-sim genre and fans are certainly excited and curious. But right now, a major curiosity surrounding fans seems to be the game’s release date.
In Southfield, players will be playing as a cartoony, big, and bouncy bud, one who’s freshly sprouted from the ground itself. And your job is to help the residents and creatures of Southfield while growing unique crops. A premise that has many excitedly waiting for its release. So, when’s the game coming out? Well, let’s go ahead and find out all about that.
Southfield game Release Date: When it will be available
Unfortunately, as of now, Radical Forge hasn’t announced a release date for Southfield. And that’s expected, to be honest, since the game was just announced a few days ago, on January 17, 2024. However, Radical Forge has shared some Southfield-related information with the community, all of which we will be discussing further.
Currently, Southfield has only been announced for a PC release via Steam. However, before its main release, the game will be undergoing early access. In the FAQ section of the game’s Steam page, Radical Forge states the following in relation to the game’s Early Access duration:
“We plan for Southfield to be in Early Access until Summer 2024. Once we’ve confirmed and locked in our post-launch plans, we plan to share our development roadmap. Be sure to join our community Discord server and follow our social channels for any updates.”
This means that the potential release date of Southfield’s v1.0 release is between June and September 2024. Suffice it to say, the game is still some good months away from release. Although we do have some good news, Flop, the Community Manager at Radical Forge, mentioned in the official Discord server of the game that Southfield will be getting a demo next month in February, before the start of early access. So, fans will be able to try their hands on the game soon enough and see for themselves if it is fun or not.
Aside from that, the game will allow players to use either controllers or M&K, whichever players prefer, as an input method. So, this makes Southfield a very welcome addition to the library of Steam Deck games. But official support is most likely not going to be available.
For now, this is all we have on the release date of Southfield. The demo for the game is just around the corner, so you won’t need to wait much longer to play and experience the game for yourself. Until then, why not try enjoying Pokemon Infinite Fusion on your Steam Deck? And for more guides and information, keep following DigiStatement.
