War Thunder crashing on Steam Deck: How to fix it

Disable Proton –
For some players, disabling Proton was what helped them deal with this issue, so you can give this a try. You can do this by going into the game’s Properties menu via Steam Library, and then selecting the Compatibility tab. Here, uncheck the Force Proton Use option.
Update –
Players should make sure that they are running the latest version of SteamOS. Moreover, you should also see to it that the game is updated to the latest version. Now, if you’ve already done both of these and are still experiencing crash issues, switch to another workaround.
Verify game files –
The game crashing on your Steam Deck could also be a result of it having some missing or corrupted files. So, what we recommend you do is repair the game’s files. Launch the game in a different mode –

Reinstall –
