BattleState Games’ Escape from Tarkov is yet to see its full release; however, in spite of that, it has amassed a huge following. So much so that it’s the go-to extraction shooter for many players. While its popularity hasn’t died down significantly, it does have a myriad of issues that players would love to see taken care of. And one of those happens to be the Cannot Find Template With ID Error.
This particular issue has started to become a major nuisance for EFT players, despite being more than 4 years old. Some get this issue just after unloading from a scav while others face it after equipping certain items. It is safe to say this error arises randomly. Now, we don’t know what’s really causing this error, but the effects are severe enough to warrant an immediate fix. So, does this issue have a fix? Well, continue reading to find out!
Escape from Tarkov (EFT) Cannot Find Template With ID Error: Is there any fix yet
Recently, this issue has been reported by many as they are unable to play the game. However, soon after the initial reports, one of EFT’s forum moderators stated that the issue was fixed and you just needed to restart the game to get rid of it. However, if the issue still persists, you can try following the given workarounds:
Restart –
For some players, all it took to fix this error was a simple restart of the game. So, we suggest you start with this method. If restarting doesn’t help, then you should try the next workaround.
Clear cache –
Another possible fix for this issue is to clear the game’s cache. Now, if you don’t know how to do that, follow the given steps:
- Just launch the BSG launcher and then click on the downward arrow or drop-down icon beside Online (at the top-right screen).
- Following that, you will see a bunch of options. Scroll down until you come across the Clear cache option. Click on it.
- Once the cache is cleared, start the game and see if the issue persists.
Verify files –
There’s also the verifying files method, which may or may not help you fix this issue. Since EFT isn’t available on any other storefronts at the moment, you will have to verify files via the BSG launcher itself. So, just follow the previous method’s steps until you see all the options. There, before the Clear cache option, you will find the Integrity check option. Click on it and let the verification process complete. Afterward, restart your PC and then launch the game.
Clear temp files –
Besides clearing the cache and verifying files, some players have also suggested clearing the game’s temporary files. If this is your first time doing this, then what you need to do is:
- Launch the BSG launcher. Then, click on your Profile or the downward arrow/drop-down icon and select Settings.
- Now, keep scrolling down until you find the Temp Directory section.
- Next, tick or click on the Clean temp folder option and select Yes.
- After the temp files are cleared, relaunch the launcher and start the game.
Run the game as an administrator –
One of the players recommended running the game as an administrator, so try that. If you don’t know how to do that, then just right-click on either the game’s .exe or shortcut. Next, select Properties, and when the mini window opens, switch to the Compatibility tab. Now, take a look below, and there you will see the Run this program as an administrator option. Checkmark/tick the option, then click Apply and OK to end the process.
Let the game run for some time –
Players can also try letting the game run for some time and waiting for the message to go away. It’s going to take maybe twenty to thirty minutes, so don’t worry if you are still encountering that error. This isn’t as reliable of a fix as the others, but give it a try at least once.
