Starfield Legacy's End Quest Bug: Is there any fix yet

Starfield Legacy's End Quest Bug: Is there any fix yet

Bethesda’s Starfield is now the newest addition to the few space-based games roster. Titles like Outer Wilds, The Outer Worlds, No Man’s Sky, and Everspace are some of the best space-related games released in recent years. And now, Starfield can be counted among them. But Starfield is also a Bethesda game, so issues are a given. Well, among the plethora of issues in the game, the Legacy’s End quest bug is a major one that we will be focusing on in this guide.

This particular quest is related to the Crimson Fleet faction. It’s an important quest, as the game’s ending will depend upon your choices here. However, there are several bugs associated with it. One bug abruptly stops Delgado from speaking at the end stage of the quest, and another one just doesn’t leave any enemies for you to fight. But that’s not it. There’s also a bug that makes the player unable to board The Key and one more that freezes the game, resulting in no progress even after reaching the command room. So, is there a fix for all this? Let’s find out!

As of now, Bethesda has not resolved this issue. Due to this, the potential workarounds mentioned below are your only options for now. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it.

Get next to the Vigilance or The Key and save the game –

Thanks to u/Str8Jk8, you can fix this bug via this method. This particular workaround is for the bug that doesn’t leave any enemies for you to fight during the latter part of the quest. Now, what you need to do is get yourself as close as possible to the Vigilance and then save your game. Do this only if you are on Crimson Fleet’s side. If you are with UC, get to the Key and then save. After you’ve saved, quit the game and perform a restart of Starfield. Load the recently saved file, and the last invisible ship will appear, hopefully.

Leave the Key and then save –

If you choose to side with UC, you will eventually have to board the Key and speak with Delgado. But a specific bug forbids you from interacting with him. On the game’s Steam Discussion post, one player shared that they got around the issue by leaving The Key and then returning to their ship. Do the same, and then undock, save, and exit from the game. Restart Starfield, reload the recent save, and initiate a redock. Enter the Key, and you should be able to interact with Delgado.

Redo your assault on The Key –

On the same previously mentioned Steam Discussion post, another workaround that was stated was to simply redo the assault on The Key. Do this, and you will be able to interact with Delgado through the window. You can also try to focus your camera on him and then press the E key. This will most likely allow you to speak with the boss.

Use console command –

Use the console command “tcl,” which Steam user elu5iv3 shared, as an alternative if the aforementioned workarounds don’t work. However, there’s a caveat to this workaround. One is that this is only available for PC users, and the other is that using the console command can disable achievements for your current save. That said, here’s what you need to do:

  • First, to open the console command, press the tilde (~) key.
  • Next, type in tcl and hit enter. This will enable no-clip and allow you to walk through walls.
  • Once you are beside Delgado, turn off the no-clip by entering tcl in the console command again. Close the console command and see if you are able to interact with the NPC.
  • In case Delgado doesn’t speak to you, just kill him and the quest will advance automatically.

Note: You can also use the “SetStage [quest id] [quest stage id]” command to bypass the part of the quest that is bugged. However, for this to work, you must first find out the quest id and the quest stage id of the particular quest. The “CompleteQuest [quest id]” command is also an alternative to bypass the bug and mark the quest as complete.

Reload a previous save –

Try reloading one of your saves from before. Choose the one that’s closest to your current progress, but make sure that save doesn’t have the Legacy End’s quest progression. Once loaded, start this particular quest from scratch again, and then check whether the issue persists.

That’s all the workarounds we have for now to fix the Legacy’s End quest bug in Starfield. We also have some fixes for the Matters of the Hart quest bug, if you are interested in that.
