Dave the Diver is the newest indie hit of 2023. Developed and published by Nexon’s subdivision- Mintrocket, it is the debut title of the South Korean game development studio. It entered into early access back on 27 October 2022 and spent several months under this phase. The game finally got its 1.0 release on June 28, 2023, and quickly became an indie hit. Despite being a single-player game, Dave the Diver reached an all-time player peak of 52,262 (*according to Steam Charts). What’s more! The game has been receiving overwhelming praise for its great OST, beautiful art style, and amazing gameplay loop. As suggested by the name itself, players play as Dave, an overweight diver, who catches fish during the day hours and by night time manages a sushi restaurant. Exploration, Adventure, Management, Simulation – Dave the Diver has got everything. While it might not be a game-of-the-year title, it certainly has earned enough recognition to earn the love it has been getting from both critics and fans alike. Now, if you happen to be reading this article, then you must be looking for a way to get, find and catch Jellyfish in the game.
Since Dave the Diver has aspects of management-sim in the form of running a sushi restaurant, it’s quite important for players to be able to catch different kinds of fish. Why? Simply put, the more variety you have, the more you will be able to experiment with dishes for your restaurant. And jellyfish certainly can be a good investment for you. But how do you catch it? Let’s find out!
Dave the Diver Jellyfish: How to get, find & catch
Since there are different types of jellyfish in the game, the difficulty can range from tough to pretty easy. Normal jellyfish including White Spotted Jellyfish (found in Limestone Cave) are easy to find and catch, meanwhile, the Blood-belly Comb Jellyfish and Barrel Jellyfish can be a bit difficult to catch. The simplest and quickest way to catch them is to use a gun (preferably Hush Dart). Simply point and shoot, and the jellyfish will be yours to collect after it’s dead. Alternatively, you can also use a harpoon to down a jellyfish. Most jellyfish can be found at a depth of 100 meters, so we suggest that you be aware of your surroundings at that particular depth since there will be lots of threats lurking around.
Do note that killing a jellyfish with guns/bullets will result in a lower star catch. Now, if you want to avoid that and instead get a higher star jellyfish, then we recommend that you use Tranquilizers (Harpoon Tranquilizer). This will put your target to sleep, following which you can grab your catch and get a 3-star rating.
With that said, we hope now you know everything about catching jellyfish in Dave the Diver. For more such interesting guides, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement. Also read: Dave the Diver ‘God of Lightning’ Achievement: How to get & unlock
