Six Days in Fallujah Error Code 0xffffffffffffffff: Is there any fix yet

Developer Highwire Games has finally published its most anticipated game, Six Days in Fallujah. The game is now available as an early access title under Steam’s Early Access program, with the PlayStation 4|5 and Xbox Series X/S|One port scheduled for a release date in 2024. The reception of the game has been fairly positive, thanks to solid combat and good graphics. However, as with all other kinds of early-access titles, there are some pretty major issues with this one as well. Likewise, players are reporting a particular error code 0xffffffffffffffff or EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION error in the game.

It’s an understandable fact that early access titles have these kinds of bugs and errors. The early access period is meant to deal with such problems and make the game as error-free as possible before the full release. Plus, with the game getting ported to consoles next year, it’s better that the developers fix such issues now rather than later on. Anyway, here’s a guide with some possible fixes for the error code 0xffffffffffffffff in Highwire Games’ latest title – Six Days in Fallujah.

At the time of writing this article, we don’t have any official fixes for this particular issue. Due to this, we recommend you follow this guide thoroughly and check if any of the workarounds do help in fixing it.

Restart PC –

First and foremost, we suggest you start with something simple and quick. And nothing is better than restarting. Players should use this method, as it has proven to be an effective workaround for the most trivial of issues.

Give admin rights –

Many games these days require administrator rights to run properly. Why? Because they need some access to system files, which they usually can’t get without admin privileges. To start, right-click on the game’s .exe file and select Properties. In the next mini-window, navigate to the Compatibility tab. There you will see the “Run this program as an administrator” option. Checkmark the checkbox near the option, click OK, and Apply.

Verify Integrity of game files –

For this method, launch Steam, go to your Library, right-click on Six Days in Fallujah, and select Properties. Now, click on the Local Files tab and select the Verify Integrity of Files option. This process will check whether there are any missing or corrupted game files. Once the scan is complete, launch the game.

Disable Overclocking –

If you have overclocked your GPU or CPU, this might be the reason why the game isn’t launching. So, to fix this error, consider running them at default clock speeds and then launching the game. The issue should be fixed.

Run the game in Windowed mode –

You can also try running the game in Windowed mode to fix this issue. To launch the game in windowed mode, head to Steam’s Launch Options for Six Days in Fallujah and enter the following command: “-windowed”.

Update your GPU drivers –

We always recommend our readers update their GPU drivers. If you haven’t done so, then go to the GPU manufacturer’s official website and get the latest available drivers from there. After installing the latest GPU drivers, run the game and check whether the issue persists.

We hope that after following these workarounds, the Error Code 0xffffffffffffffff (EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION) in Six Days in Fallujah gets fixed.
