F1 23 saw its launch on June 16, 2023, and has since received praise from both critics and fans alike. The continuation of Braking Point (Braking Point 2) has been a welcome addition to the game, along with amazing visuals and improved gameplay mechanics. However, there are certain aspects of the game that need some focus. But these are mostly technical issues instead of gameplay ones. One such major issue is the “failed to save” error that many have reported facing in the game. It can be very annoying to do so much hard work in-game and then lose all your progress just because of some stupid error. That’s why we have this guide here, which will help you deal with this “Failed to Save Error” in F1 23.
F1 23 Failed to Save Error: How to fix it
At the time of writing this article, there isn’t any kind of official fix for this issue in particular. And since we can’t pinpoint the root of it, we recommend you follow our given workarounds thoroughly. Who knows!! One of them might fix this issue.
Add the game as an exception in Windows Defender –
Windows Defender is known to delete files of its own volition sometimes. Because of that, it’s best to add the game as an exclusion. To do so, open Settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > Virus and threat protection > Virus and threat protection settings > Manage Settings. In the next window, scroll down below to find an option titled – Exclusion. Under it, select “Add or remove exclusion”. Next, do the same once again, but this time select the exclusion button. Now, browse the game’s directory and add F1 23’s .exe file to the list of exclusions, and you are good to go.
Restart game –
Restarting is the simplest method here. You can do a quick restart of the game and see if the issue still persists. If yes, then move on to the next method.
Allow the game through Firewall –
You can also allow F1 23 through the firewall to resolve this issue. To start, open your settings > Update and Security > Windows Security > Firewall and network protection > Allow an app through the firewall. In the next window, click on “Change settings” at the top right. Now, look for F1 23 and check mark both Private and Public. If you can’t find the game, then click on “Allow another app” at the bottom, browse to the game’s directory, and add its .exe file.
Update the game –
Updates are important for games, as they not only bring new content but also optimizations and bug fixes. In case you haven’t updated the game in a long time, we recommend that you do so as soon as possible.
Create another save –
Players can also try creating another save to see if the problem is with the game itself or a specific save. Remember, you will have to start all over, but that’s the price that you need to pay to use this workaround.
Redownload –
If nothing else works, then redownloading is your next best option. Ensure that you have a good enough connection to download the game, though. If you are comfortable with this method, then uninstall the game and then promptly start re-downloading it.
If none of the workarounds worked, then you need to contact EA support and share the issue that you are facing. For more guides like this, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement.
