F1 2023 (F1 23) PM65539 error: How to fix it

F1 23 is the latest entry in the long-running F1 franchise by EA. Developed by the British video game development studio Codemasters and published by EA Sports, it’s the sixteenth entry in the F1 series and the sequel to F1 22. While the game is certainly an improvement from the previous F1 game, it does suffer from some minor issues. Take the PM65539 error as an example. Issues like these are nothing new to both the F1 series and games in general. And since they are well-known issues, there are workarounds available for them. Some of these are explained in detail below.

F1 2023 (F1 23) PM65539 error: How to fix it

The PM65539 error in F1 2023 is mostly related to the game client not being able to connect to the game server or host. Put simply, it’s a server-related issue that will restrict you from accessing the game’s multiplayer features. Now that you are aware of what this error is, let’s look at some potential fixes for it.

Check your internet connection –

Since this particular error is related to server issues, we recommend that you first check that you have a good enough internet connection. Ensure that there are no interferences, along with a fast internet speed. If nothing is wrong with your connection, then proceed with the next method.

Restart your router –

You can also try restarting your router. Restarting is one of the best and most effective ways to deal with trivial issues. Although there’s a chance that this method won’t yield any results, we still suggest you try it out regardless.

Use VPN and disable crossplay-

Many have reported that the issue was fixed when they used a VPN while connecting to the game servers. So, you can try using any paid VPN service and then launch the game. This should give you access to its multiplayer modes. If not, then consider disabling crossplay from the in-game settings as well.

Check server status –

Sometimes game servers go under maintenance for a myriad of reasons. So, when they do, the studio or the developers generally make announcements regarding it. And so, you can follow the official Twitter handle of F1 23 to check for updates on the game’s server status. If the servers are down at the moment, you will have to wait until they are back online.

Change DNS –

Changing DNS is a tried-and-tested workaround for issues related to servers and such. Moreover, Google has a public DNS, which you can use to resolve this issue.

For PC –

  • Open Control Panel, click on Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
  • Right-click on your primary connection and select Properties to change the settings for it.
  • Next, select the Networking tab, and under the option titled – This connection uses the following items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 or Internet Protocol Version 6, and choose Properties.
  • Select Advanced > DNS.
  • Remove the previously written IP addresses in there and click OK.
  • Now, select Use the following DNS server addresses, and for the Preferred DNS Server or Alternate DNS server, replace the IP addresses as the following –
    • For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, or 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
    • For IPv6: 2001:4860:4860::8888 and 2001:4860:4860::8844

For PS –

  • Go to Settings > Network.
  • On the Network page, select Settings from the left bar or side.
  • Next, select Set Up Internet Connection.
  • Look for the network you are using and select it. Choose Advanced Settings.
  • Select DNS settings and set it to Manual as it will be Automatic by default.
    • For Primary DNS, enter – 8.8.4.4
    • For Secondary DNS, enter – 8.8.8.8

For Xbox –

  • Press the Xbox button on your controller and select System > All settings
  • Go to Network > Network Settings > Advanced Settings
  • Select DNS settings and set it to Manual
    • For Primary DNS, enter – 8.8.4.4
    • For Secondary DNS, enter – 8.8.8.8
  • Press the Xbox button again to save your settings

After changing the DNS settings, try launching the game, and check whether you can access its multiplayer features.

Update the game –

If you haven’t updated the game in a while, then it could also be a reason why you are facing this error. Updates are important not only because they provide new content but also because they come with lots of bug fixes and optimizations. So, make sure to download the latest available update for the game.

With that said, we certainly hope that this guide has helped you get rid of this annoying error. For more guides and information on F1 23, don’t forget to bookmark DigiStatement. Also read: F1 23 (F1 2023) VR Shaking Issue: Is there any fix yet
