Blizzard Entertainment released early access for Diablo 4 players on June 1st, 2023. While the full version of the game is set for release on June 5th, fans can already start diving into the game if they pre-purchased the Ultimate or Deluxe edition. Just like the predecessors in the series, Diablo 4 offers the players a mix of groundbreaking visuals and a well-crafted story that creates a mesmerizing gaming experience. For a number of players, the storyline of these games is really the most attractive part. And in order to understand the entire context, one needs to be hooked up to the game, including during the cutscenes. However, this is not that important for some players, and they often want to skip the in-game cutscenes to jump right into the action. If you are one such player, you might be looking for ways to skip cutscenes in Diablo 4, right? Well, continue reading to learn more about this.
The cutscenes are indeed an important part of the game, especially for the storytelling bit. In fact, unless it’s extremely boring or time-consuming for you, then we suggest that you watch them. Watching the cutscenes will help you read the essence of the storyline with more clarity and provide you with better explanations for how the game is progressing. However, this is not a prerequisite. If you don’t want to watch these scenes and simply want to cut to the chase, you’re not alone. The same can be achieved in Diablo 4. And the process is quite simple.
How to Skip the Cutscenes in Diablo 4?
Blizzard Entertainment has released Diablo 4 on multiple gaming platforms including, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. For each platform, you need to use different methods to skip the cutscenes.
PC
If you’re playing Diablo 4 on your PC, then you can press and hold the Esc button on your keyboard to skip the cutscenes. Now, a lot of players only press the button to skip the scenes. However, that will only show you the “Skip” prompt. You need to press and hold the Esc button to skip the cutscenes.
PlayStation
For players on PlayStation, you need to press and hold the circle button on your controller to skip the cutscenes. This is the same for both PS4 and PS5. Once again, remember, simply tapping the circle button will not do the trick.
Xbox
Lastly, for Xbox players, pressing and holding the B button on your controller will skip the cutscenes in Diablo 4.
However, players have reported facing a bug in Diablo 4, that prevents them from skipping the cutscenes at all. No matter what they do, they’re having to watch through the cutscenes, and it’s getting tiring for many. This problem was also mentioned by players on the Blizzard forums. Even the developers acknowledged the issue. For PC players, the apparent fix for this problem is to press and hold Alt+ Esc. However, for console players, there’s no real fix yet, meaning their predicament isn’t going to end anytime soon.
This was all we know about skipping cutscenes in Diablo 4 as of now. Try the aforementioned options and see if they work for you. If not, waiting for the full game release is the only option right now. We will keep you posted about the same, so don’t forget to stay tuned to DigiStatement all along!
