Destiny 2 is a free-to-play first-person shooter online multiplayer video game developed by Bungie. The game was launched for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, followed by a Microsoft Windows version the following month.
We are here to answer if you are a Destiny 2 player and wondering why you can’t play the game for now. Well, there can be a lot of reasons, maybe game servers are down. This can happen because of a fault, or the company has intentionally done that for server maintenance. And sometimes, it is done to add new content with rolling out the update.
Talking about the current status of Destiny 2 servers. The Destiny 2 servers are currently down as the developers are rolling out the latest update 2.7.1 to the game.
According to the official tweet by Bungie Help, the server will undergo maintenance from 08:00 AM PST to 11:00 AM PST.

We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific.

Bungie Team are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. Bungie will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific.

We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific.
