The core objective of every new player when they start playing Rust is to have as plenty of resources as possible to craft decent gear for basic tasks like crafting items and fending off hostile enemies. Because of the complex nature of the game, resources like Stone in Rust can be difficult to locate for newcomers and if not secured soon can have a hard time in the game. If you’re new to the game and having a problem finding it, our article will help you in locating Stone and the location where it spawns frequently. Continue reading the article to know how to get Stone in Rust.

Rust How to get Stone

What is Stone in Rust?

Stone is one of the starter resources that can let you craft simple weapons, and build bases and is used in multiple ways as you progress through the game. If you’ve already built your own base, you can upgrade the building structure to stone grade which will make it more robust. Like every other natural resource finding, Stone isn’t that difficult and is generally found in places where you’d usually expect them to be there like the mining quarry in a stone yielding area. If you’re lucky, you’ll find stones lying around in the ground, however, if you wish to get stones in huge numbers, there are multiple ways that you can go about it and we’ve put them all below in this article. Take your time experimenting and gather as many stones as you can.

How to get Stones in Rust?

Below we have listed a few methods that’ll help you get the maximum number of stones possible in Rust. With that being said, check out the methods to get Stones.

Loose Stones

If you’re starting out, picking up loose stones is the best option you have right now if you hope to craft a decent weapon for defending or attacking. As you explore the area, try grabbing rocks on the ground as many as possible. If you have enough, you can craft a stone pickaxe before heading out to mine. Open areas and beaches are the best places to look for loose stones so if you don’t want to spend time searching aimlessly, try out those places.

Mine Stone Nodes

The next best option to get stones is to mine Stone Nodes, however, do know that without decent equipment like a Stone Pickaxe, you can’t get the maximum amount if you hit the node with regular rock and the stones it yields will have limited number like 300. Using Stone Pickaxe can yield you 700 stones or more so, the higher level weapon, the more it’ll fetch stones. Also always aim for the highlighted section and it’ll be noticeable by hearing a specific noise, meaning you hit it correctly.

Purchase Stones from the outpost.

In Rust, if you don’t feel like wandering around the world for stones, you can always stock up on them via Outpost, provided you have plenty of materials lying around in your inventory. You can also use outposts to procure other materials as well apart from stone. However, be careful as you’re more vulnerable to attacks from other players if you’re carrying huge amounts of materials so make sure to travel in groups or have enough weapons to fend them off.

Use Recycler

Another best way to get Stones in Rust if you have useless items lying around is to use a recycler as it can disintegrate them and fetch resources, including stones. Recyclers are located near larger areas and monuments like Airfield. However, there is a catch as rogue players will often camp out nearby recyclers to kill you and take it for themselves, so always be on the lookout if you plan on using this method.
